Today I want to share with you our Back to School Dinner party! I love any reason to throw a party, but a back to school party isn’t all the realistic…. at least I don’t know many people who actually have one with all the neighbor kids. So I thought of using our Back to school party printables for a back to School Dinner party.
We wanted to keep things simple and use everyday school supplies to excite the kids about school. This is a fun tradition to start and do every year.
At each place setting we had our placemat for them to draw and color
We had a mini water bottle and crayons with a ruler bow and our School tags!
We had primary colored glass plates and shape chalkboards with chalk wrapped in one of our flags and an apple tag with an encouraging note from from their Mom.
The table centerpiece we wrapped books in our pattern paper and use red apples with No. 2 pencils stuck in them for our sign bases.
We found these large erasers at Michaels and knew we had to have them! I drilled holes in them to hold our suckers.
Nothing says party like balloons…. so we had a few tied to a tape dispenser
By throwing a little party to celebrate that school is about to start gives the kids a good first impression or outlook on school and that it can be fun!
I bought lots of yellow rulers and used them to make bows and also run them down the entire table
We had chocolate cupcakes for dessert!
Over the dinner table We hung our Back to School banner
Make fun hats with their names
I made this party for my sister’s kids and her sister-in-law…. the kids loved having it together as they are in the same classrooms with each other
Our artists drawing on their chalkboards
I love this drawing, it’s just perfect and show their innocence and simple- happy life
Noah cracked me up when he put his hat around his neck! He’s such a funny little guy…. he was so serious about it. Such a boy thing to do
After we ate the pizza (for the kids) and and couscous salad (for the adults… it was delicious- homemade dressing with grilled chicken)
After we were done with dinner we took the cupcakes outside and read books to the kids.
They were listening so intensely!
Have fun making magical moments with your kids and feeding their love of learning!
